Denim Day Poster!

In honor of Mother's everywhere, we at Dragon Ink Photography donated a percentage of our photography sessions from April 1st through May 8th to the Domestic Abuse and Crisis Center of Warren County.

April 28th is Denim Day in NJ. This year, to help raise awareness we asked local businesses to come to the studio and show off their denim. We then used these photos to create a poster for Warren County Denim Day in NJ!

27 Person Family Shoot

Being an only child, it was such a fantastic experience for me to be part of the family shoot we did on May 23rd. 27 people young and old all together to celebrate their Mom/Grandma/Great Grandma's life and accomplishments. It was a fun experience to say the least! And although we could not stay to participate in the festivities, Sean and I both carry fond memories of the experience and a special place in our hearts for this family.

We had a great time attending the Mt. Olive Memorial Day Parade. Its a tradition for our family and a great parade to attend. We hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did. Its a wonderful way to honor our soldiers.

A Busy Memorial Day Weekend Ahead

We have a busy Memorial Day Weekend Planned. We are doing a 27 person family shoot in PA on Saturday with people ranging from 60+ to less than a year old! It should be a fun time!

Sunday we have a portfolio shoot in the afternoon, and Monday we are taking pictures at the Mt. Olive Memorial Day Parade! Why Mt. Olive and not Hackettstown you might ask... Well, Sean's mother and father have been on the Mt. Olive Memorial Day Parade Committee since the beginning, and well, we have never missed a parade! Even when Avery was only a few weeks old! Maybe when they retire we will finally be able to attend Hackettstown's Memorial Day Parade. :)

Hackettstown Spring Festival

I spent a lovely 3.5 hours sitting in Hackettstown today. I met a dozen or so very interesting people and had a great time watching people drive through town. The streets were busy with cars and people taking the trolley to the Spring Festival by Lowes. they rang the little bell of the trolley at each stop. It really was quite quaint.

All in all I am learning that this really is a nice little tight knit community. Businesses are there looking to help other local businesses and people truly are interested in using local business to help the economy and our town thrive and grow. Its something I am really proud to be a part of.

I had the pleasure of meeting the ladies at The Art House on Main Street (they are in the old Canine Cafe shop) http://www.thearthousenj.com/Site/Home.html. I am personally looking forward to having some fun art time with the kids there!! Plus, they have a kiln and do pottery classes!!! YEAH!!! Be sure to check them out!!

We headed to c'mere cupcake for a dozen cupcakes for a party we were invited to. Yummy and fun choosing my favorites! I had the opportunity to talk to the owner John, great guy. One of my Favorite New Shops in Hackettstown = C'mere Cupcake right next to Vintner's Circle

The family and I made a visit to C'mere Cupcake (it was my second time in one week!). The Red Velvet was just as delicious as before. Sean had the baby cake - Chocolate gnash with chocolate melted on top. OMG!!!!! It was AMAZING!!! You have to drink an entire glass of milk or coffee with it since it is so luscious and rich! We took the kids and they each had a blast picking out one of the more colorful cupcakes. There was nothing left of the mint icing to try, but the strawberry icing was fantastic! The other MOMS from our local club and I had a great time talking in the lounge area. It is nice to have an environment that the kids can move about without being too constricted. There is a fish tank that kept there attention, and a big stuffed monkey.

In Honor of Mothers everywhere Dragon Ink Photography will be donating 5% of all proceeds from photography sessions and gift certificates purchased from April 1st through May 8th, 2009.
